CTA PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
PROJECT BRIEF
The project entails developing a compelling no-smoking public service announcement (PSA) for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). The PSA aims to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining smoke-free environments on public transportation. Targeted at CTA commuters of all ages and backgrounds, the poster is designed to be informative, engaging, and memorable, utilizing a combination of visuals and concise messaging to effectively convey its key points.
PROCESS
The technical process of creating the poster began with thorough research into the visual elements of both a cigarette and an L-train car to ensure readability in the hybrid illustration. Attention is given to conveying the message of the PSA through visual storytelling, with the cigarette appearing juxtaposed against the L-train car to symbolize the negative impact of smoking in public spaces. Finally, text elements and branding are added to the poster, ensuring clarity and coherence in communicating the no-smoking message to CTA commuters that comply with existing CTA branding colors, logos, and typography.
